Labour Weekend – Friday 20th to Monday 23rd October
For a fun, friendly, and frenzied weekend, come to the NZSS AGM to be held at at Piopio. A fun time for friends and family, as well as hardened cavers, is assured. As well as caving activities, there will be mountain biking, bush walks, and speleo sports, as well as the usual Arch Nana, Council Meeting, AGM Dinner and all the associated shenanigans. We will be based at the Piopio College, with plenty of rooms to sleep in, grass to camp on, showers to clean up in, and a gymnasium to meet in. | |

Registration
Registration information is available now, with details of the activities available, and prices. This page gives the actual prices we will charge so that you can make an informed decision to attend. Send your name and address to the contact below to ensure that you get a copy. Registration will be $10 per person. This will cover rental of the venue, indemnity insurance and tea and coffee.
Accommodation
A range of accommodation options will be available, from pitching your tent or parking your van at $6 per person for the weekend to floor space in a classroom (you supply the mattress) at $9 per person for the weekend.
Catering
The traditional opening wine and cheese ($7), BBQ ($10), and AGM dinner ($25) will be catered, with options for vegetarians, and reduced rates for children.
We can also supply you with continental breakfasts ($7 each) and packed lunches ($7 each) to save you having to waste your valuable time.
Events
A range of cave trips, from ‘family friendly’ to advanced trips requiring SRT will be available. For those who want something a bit different, a mountain bike trip will also be offered.
There are also a number of less physical activities available in the area from boat rides up the Mokau River, through antiques shops to the local café scene.
